Manos del Uruguay

Manos del Uruguay is a cooperative of 800 women producing handspun and handyed yarns. Set up by a group of women to promote social and economic development in rural areas in Uruguay. With the aim to produce handcrafts using traditional methods, the women spin, dye and knit garments for sale throughout the rest of the world. Manos del Uruguay has been admitted as a full member of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO) as of July 2009, so all Manos yarns are now fairtrade.
