Knitting needle impalement

When attending her usual knitting club, Ellin Klor tripped and fell on the stairs, impaling herself on one of her own knitting needles. Thanks to watching ER, she did not pull out the needle but after calling 911, was taken to hospital to have it removed from her heart.  

Only afterwards, one of the technicians was looking at one of her xrays and noted an enlarged lymph node. Further tests revealed breast cancer. After enduring eight months of chemotherapy, Ellin, now given the all-clear, says " Its an incredible thing, to have something that almost took your life end up saving your life". Read more
