Mirasol

The Mirasol Collection was launched worldwide in August 2007 with four luxurious ranges and one design book by Jane Ellison to support these ranges. There are now several design books for this range. The Mirasol project is run on fairtrade principles and aims to generate funds from the sale of alpaca wool and cotton, to finance the educational needs of the children of the community. Peru’s heritage and culture of textile artistry is one of the richest in the world. Without the shepherds tending their animals in the Peruvian Highlands we would not have this beautiful luxurious yarn. Through buying the exclusive Mirasol yarns, knitters around the world will be supporting the children of Puno. A portion of every purchase is dedicated directly to the funding of the Mirasol Project in the remote area of Muñani in the region of Puno
