Louisa Harding Roadshow

19 August 2009
Butterly Moss from Little Cake
Louisa Harding recently showcased her new season designs, which featured garments from her newly published book Little Cake and the soon to be published Queen of Hearts.

Little Cake introduces two new yarns from Louisa:
Willow Tweed - a gorgeous blend of 40% alpaca, 40% merino wool and 20% silk, and
Thistle - a warm blend of 60% merino wool and 40% baby suri alpaca

Louisa Harding is a fashion designer who works in the medium of knitwear and it shows in the designs. A number of garments were made up for the show and the most remarkable thing I noticed was that the designs are made to fit and flatter most figures and work well across a large age range - these are definitely not just designs for trendies. One cardigan Puzzle from the Queen of Hearts collection was tried on by most people attending and it suited everyone. The mini dress might look like it's only for skinny teenagers, but it looked surprisingly good over leggings and on much older figures.
